The NVTI Alumni Association was formed under the
umbrella of the University
of Colorado at Denver Alumni Association in response to a
funding emergency.
At the time, Congress had proposed cuts in funding for LVER, DVOP
and NVTI programs. NVTI graduates responded by writing and
calling their legislators, networking with veterans service
organizations and asking friends, family and co-workers to also
make contacts. Their efforts restored full funding.
The following year, another budget battle was fought and won.
The first Annual Meeting of the Association was held July 11,
1991 in Denver, Colorado.
